FORTALEZA, Brazil - Miroslav Klose equaled Ronaldo's all-time World Cup goals records to save Germany a 2-2 draw against Ghana Saturday. The 71st minute equalizer helped Germany avoid a loss against a physical Ghana squad and keeps them atop group G.

Germany struck first when Mario Gotze snuck in between two defenders and headed in a Thomas Muller cross from the right wing in the 51st minute, but Ghana responded three minutes later as Andre Ayew headed his second goal of the tournament.

Asamoah Gyan made it 2-1 to the African side in the 63rd minute, tying former Cameroon striker, Roger Milla, as the top-scoring African in World Cup history, burying a Sulley Muntari pass on the right wing and giving Ghana its first lead of the World Cup.

Facing a disappointing result, the Germans capitalized on a set piece as second-half substitute
Miroslav Klose slid home a flicked-on cornerkick in the 71st minute to level the score again. It was Klose’s 15th World Cup goal.

After a lackluster, scoreless first half, the teams traded two goals each after the break in a see-saw battle -- the Germans opened the scoring but then had to come back to tie it up -- which leaves both Germany (4 pts) and Ghana (1 pt) with all to play for in their respected matches next week.

The Germans will face the United States and Ghana to take on Portugal June 26.
