England Held to Second Consecutive Draw in Miami

telegraph.co.uk
Miami, FL - England was again held to a draw in their final preparatory match for the World Cup.  After previously being held to a 2-2 draw by Ecuador, England were unable to break through against Honduras.
Though England had several chances at the hands of striker Daniel Sturridge and company.  The first of these chances came in the 22nd minute with Sturridge missing the target by a matter of inches.

Though they were unable to score, the Three Lions looked to be in much better form than they did against Ecuador only days earlier.  England had several open looks against Honduras due to superior passing by their midfielders.

Though a look of frustration could clearly be seen on the face of English Manager Roy Hodgson, he surely also took away many positives from the friendly in the hot Miami sun.

One piece of very good news for the Three Lions is that Glen Johnson is match-fit and ready for the World Cup.  This is especially positive after the dismal performance of James Milner at right back against Ecuador.

Hodgson can also take away that his team are finding open space in the final third.  Though they were unable to find the breakthrough goal, England had many good opportunities.

Another positive for Hodgson is the quality of the English defense.  England held the vast majority of possession, and had an 87% tackle accuracy in the match.

Though this was not the result England was looking for in their final send-off match, they can still look very positively as their first match in Brazil quickly approaches.

England will play their first match in Brazil against Italy on June 14.
