Will Barcelona's Transfer Ban Affect Next Season?

It was a sad day for Barcelona fans across the world as news that the club will be unable to make any transfers through the next two transfer windows.  The news came today as FIFA handed down the sanctions in response to an investigation that found the Catalan club had broken rules concerning the signing of players under the age of 18.  Though Barca is now appealing this ban, if the ban proves to be unsuccessful, it could be crippling to one of Spain's top teams.

Champions League Quarter-final Preview

After Friday's Champions League Quarter-finals cup draw, all the matches are bound to be very exciting!  As with most stages of the competition, the match-ups were selected by random draw, and are sure to be some entertaining.  With only eight teams left across Europe, the intensity will surely be high as all the teams strive to reach the Semi-finals.  Below are some match predictions for both legs of the match-ups.

Messi or Ronaldo? The debate continues

 

With two records broken by the two most renowned strikers in the world, who is truly the best?  Both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo broke records in matches this weekend.  Messi broke the record for most goals scored by a Barcelona man, while Ronaldo is now the first player to score 25 goals in five consecutive seasons in La Liga.

Prior to last weekend's La Liga action Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid were all tied for first place in the top Spanish League.  Much to the good fortune of Real Madrid, two upsets resulted in Los Blancos taking the top of the table.  Now with the three biggest teams in Spain being separated by only three points, this weekend's Madrid Derby is sure to be at the center of this dramatic race.  Though Barcelona also plays this weekend, they play a bottom of the table team and a win should not be difficult for the Catalan side.
