Van Gaal Woes Continue

(telegraph.co.uk)
Following an outstanding preseason campaign in the United States, Louis van Gaal has hit a snag as the Barclays Premier League has begun.  After winning all their matches in the United States, van Gaal's side has yet to find a win in the regular season.

With the second match of the season complete, United will realize that there is still a considerable amount of work to do in the closing days of the transfer window.

The Red Devils suffered their first loss of the season in their opening match against Swansea at Old Trafford.  Which was the first time they have been at the bottom of the table on opening day since 1972.

Struggles continued this week as van Gaal's 3-5-2 system is still not adapting completely to Premier League action.  The Manchester side was unable to find their first win of the season as they ended level against Sunderland.

The 1 point taken from the first two matches of the season marks Manchester United's worst start since 1992.  This start is even worse than that of David Moyes, who was sacked after only 7 months in charge of United.

Following the match against Sunderland, van Gaal stated "we could have created more" and expressed his desire for the club to be more creative.

The Red Devils are hoping to bring in some more creativity in the last portion of the transfer window.  One player who has been heavily linked with the Manchester side is Angel Di Maria.

The Real Madrid man is linked with a move in excess of 50 million pounds, and would help add a much needed spark to United.

Manchester United has also been linked with a multitude of other players this summer, but have failed to bring many to Old Trafford.  Van Gaal has managed to bring in three signings so far in Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, and Ander Herrera, but still needs to greatly reinforce his side if he hopes to have any hope of winning the Premier League.
